How to repairand maintain automobile bearings
Automobile bearings areimportant parts of the car. Automobile bearings are responsiblefor reducing the friction when the chassis running, to maintain the normaldriving of the heavy car. If the wheel hub bearing a failure, may cause noise,bearing heat and other phenomena, especially the front wheel is more obvious,easily lead to the direction of out of control and other dangerous phenomena.Therefore, the hub bearing must be maintained on schedule.
Turn the wheel by hand to see if the rotation is smooth,whether there is abnormal noise. If the rotation is not smooth and there isfriction, indicating that the brake part is not normal; if there is no noise,rotation is not smooth and tight when the loose, indicating that the bearingpart is not normal. The wheel should be dismantled when the above anomaliesoccur. For small cars, check the wheel bearings, with both hands to hold theupper and lower tires, hands back and forth to pull the tires, repeat manytimes. If normal, should not be loose and block the feeling; if the swing has aclear sense of loosening, should dismantle the wheel.
Brake inspection. Usually in the inspection of the wheelbearing, with inspection wheel brake device, if the tire inside the oil traces,is likely to brake cylinder or brake oil pipe caused by leakage, shouldpromptly identify the reasons to be excluded.
Remove the tire nuts and tires, taking care not to touchthe threads of the tire bolts. If it is a disc brake, you should remove thebrake, and then use the clamp to remove the lock or lock pin. Remove the wheels with special tools. Scrap the bearing, the journal and the old greasein the hub cavity, clean the hub bearing and journal with a cleaning agent anddry with a cloth, and finally wipe the wheel cavity with a cloth. Check the wheel bearings and bearing race, foundcracks, fatigue peeling and loose roller bearings and other phenomena, shouldreplace the bearings. If you find the bearing seat on the pitting, should alsoreplace the bearing.
Check the bearing diameter and the journal with thesituation, with the gap should not be greater than 0.10mm When measuring thejournal, should be in the vertical ground of the upper and lower parts (wherethe largest wear parts) measurement. If the clearance exceeds the specifiedlimits, the bearings should be replaced to return to the normal clearance. Donot allow burrs on the journal to increase the gap. Until all parts meet the requirements, the internalbearing smear grease and then put into the hub. When applying grease to thebearing cavity, care should be taken to squeeze the grease into the bearinguntil the grease comes from the other side of the bearing. In the hub cavityand the shaft head cover a thin layer of grease, so that play the role of rust.Note that the grease inside the hub cavity should not be smeared too much,otherwise it will affect the heat and braking. Install the hub and outerbearing back to the journal, screw the shaft adjustment nut by hand, andtighten the adjustment nut with the torque of the shaft wrench. Tighten thenut, you should turn around the hub a few laps to see the bearing installation;the other hand, by rotating the bearing and the seat with the correct. At thistime the appropriate tightness of the bearing, the wheel free to rotate andfeel no axial clearance. Finally, install thelock, fixed nut, tire, dust cover and decorative cover and other parts.
